Alright, these are three of the four known members of Rancor Battalion, stationed on Kamino. (As a battallion is a 1000 soldiers roughly, that means we've got several hundred implied to exist. These ones in particular are just the Commanders of the battalion )

Commander Havoc, is the far right in the Blue. Far Left? That's Commander Blitz

But the one in the middle is Commander Colt. You'll know him from Early TCWs, where he was the Commander who graded Domino Squad's performance on their graduation test of the Citadel, and as the poor bastard who got skewered and kissed by Asaaj Ventress.

Now the reason I'm bringing them up because they are CF99 related.

( CF99 "Clone Force 99". Unfortunately I cannae separate my views of the Bad Batch without immediately running into "The Bad Batch" TV Show... which I fucking hate. So this is a case of me just, trying [key word] to focus on the thing I love without having to deal with the published fanfiction about it [by too much], and maybe inspire some folks along the way as once again I scream "I FOUND A THING AGAIN" )

TCWshow is the origin show of the Bad Batch, and that's clear from the cut material of their season 6 arc. (Yes, it was meant to be season 6 in production order. What we got from released Season 6 were actually stuff made for Seasons 5 and Seasons 4 respectively )

That means, to find the backstory we need to move forward, we go through TCWs first.

Let's start.

Commander Colt, on the right, has a full one skull painted face and he primarily favors dark gray and deep red trim.

As we know, the jawless skull is a prime symbol of the Bad Batchers, and most of paint used by Colt are also used by CF99.

This suggests that Commander Colt was actually a prime, if not main, influence over the Bad Batcher's lives. Particularly, Hunter, who has clearly painted half a stylized skull on his helmet. While the CF99 skull is more stylized than Colt's--the Skull motif had to be inspired by something.

And since we're provided with no obvious alternative (and could probably fanfic plenty of alternatives instead)--the most clear connection here, in show, is with Commander Colt.

( This also helps the slow developed parallel between Domino Squad and CF99. Both are "bad batches", both were given a helping hand by Maintenance Clone 99, and were influenced by Commander Colt. Though its pretty obvious that Commander Colt had more hand with CF99 than Domino ever received. )

[ Side Tangent: This also means that the Bad Batch's association with Ventress is out of character and out of place. She murdered their favored Commander from cadethood, and assaulted him as he died via her kiss. ]

It should be noted that most of Rancor Battallion Commanders (nearly) all have gray faceplates, which makes the helmet appear to be or have a "skull".

This is Commander Havoc, wearing the Blue that was been adopted as 501st colors.

( Its pretty clear that Rancor Battalion does not, in fact, follow the paint cultures of deployed legions. They are either semi-following the now defuncted paint-rank system from "Attack of the Clones", or they have decided "Fuck it, we do what we want"... Either works, hell, both can work simultaneously )

The reason I bring Commander Havoc up, is that the CF99 ship is (was) known as the "Havoc Marauder". And it can be just as easily inferred that its not just the act of causing havoc and chaos, but that it was named in honor of Commander Havoc.

( This is, of course, mere speculation... But fuck it, its fun speculation.)

Commander Havoc's most significant story contributions, before being killed during the (third) Battle of Kamino, was defending 99; and that small contribution could've been enough to name a ship after him.

So y'know, more fun to be had.

ADDENDUM:

I know I did a whole a thing about Clone Names, and I'm still kinda confused but also find it really fun, about Commander Colt's name. Like, is he named after the horse? Are there horses in Star Wars? Is there an anime call a colt? Is the baby form of a rancor called a colt? Or is it the colt single action army revolver? I mean, star wars having combustible revolver weapons with projectiles and gunpowder wouldn't shock me... But Colt Revolvers are named after American Gun Manufacturer Samuel Colt. So uh, does--does this mean Mr. Colt was in Star Wars at some point? Is there a planet called Connecticut where he comes from. Maybe its the swedish origin of colt, which means "half grown animal" or "young boy". Is... Is Sweden in star wars. Is there a planet called Swedish. Its stuff like this, which both makes it both confusing and so fucking funny. Cos now we gotta ask some serious questions, that may or may not result in a parody. ( Name things what you want in your fantasy, so that it can absolutely result in confusing sets of questions like this. Simple Confusion is the best part. )

headcanons about merrin x cal children

Cal and Merrin deserve to have like, 6 kids. Here are my headcanons about said babies:

Kata Akuna: First born daughter, adopted, human, Jedi. Never actually gets formally adopted by Cal and Merrin, nor does she call them Mom or Dad, but when she introduces people to them she says they are her parents. Does NOT sit still. Adrenaline junkie--always jumping off of walls (literally) and climbing things that shouldn't be climbable--much like her adopted father. The number 1 cause of Cal's gray hairs.

Cere Kestis: Second born daughter, biological, human/zabrak. Red hair, brown eyes. A FOUNTAIN of anxiety, always trying to balance being a Nightsister and being a Jedi. Eventually decides not to do either of them and, to the surprise of everyone, becomes a Senator in the New Republic. She and Leia are in the same political party but butt heads literally every day of their lives.

Llyana Kestis: third born daughter, biological, human/zabrak. Red hair, green eyes. Studies to be both a Nightsister and a Jedi, but actually works more as an academic. Does not think running around with a laser sword is all that impressive, really, but does use the Force to bring herself a cup of caffa when she's feeling lazy. Will one day be THE foremost scholar about Dathomir and the history of the Nightsisters. Wants to go to university so bad, and is the 2nd most cause of Cal's gray hairs after Kata.

Asana Kestis: fourth born daughter, biological, human/zabrak. Red hair, brown eyes. Autistic. Merrin wanted to name her Asaaj after Ventress; Cal didn't want to name her after a Separatist general; Asana was the name compromise. Studies to be a Jedi/nightsister but honestly prefers piloting and tinkering with droids. Gets SO MAD when Luke Skywalker blows up the Death Star because that should have been her, damnit! She could have made that shot! (even though she is like...10 at the time) Has made BDs 2 - 27.

Tanichka Kestis: fifth born daughter, adopted, torgruta. She's red, white, and gray. Merrin was on a mission to Nar Shaddaa and saw an orphaned three year old child, and went, "whelp, she's coming home with me, then." Doesn't talk about it with Cal at all: just shows up with an extra kid. He pulls an Arthur Weasley and wakes up one more and counts the heads at breakfast and goes "wait this one doesn't have red hair." Technically Tanichka is older than Asana, but not by much. She has the force sensitivity of a spoon; takes after Grandpa Greez instead and LOVES to cook. Opens a restaurant on Tanzalorr. Her second husband asks her "Was it hard? Growing up around so many people who were so special?" Tanichka rolls her eyes at him. "Was it hard having parents who loved me and provided for me even though I wasn't biologically theirs? Oh no, what a hardship," she hits him with a pillow. "It just meant I had to be very good at getting revenge, especially because I have four psychic sisters."

Jaro Kestis: first born son, last born biological child, human/zabrak. Silver hair, green eyes, tiniest little horns. Full on Jedi, uses a little bit of magic but is just so very in tune with the Force it's a little scary. Technically Kata's padawan, due to age difference. Gets murdered as a teenager by Kylo Ren when he destroys the Jedi Temple.

The Bad Batch: Clones need to stick together and we're a found family even in these dark times and we care about each other and that's what matters most.

Also the Bad Batch: I, Asaaj Ventress, say that if Omega is Force Sensitive she will have to leave you and go train even though there's nowhere safe to go and no one to teach her and nothing useful to do with it afterward and also I'm neither a Nightsister OR a Jedi OR a Sith so what the shit do I even care about rules and as some kind of outsider bounty hunter I'd think it's pretty clear if Jedi rules were working the way they should be they wouldn't all have been erased from the galaxy so maybe their rules are worth reexamining if I had any reason to even care (?)

Greetings Patrons and welcome to what we're going to call Twisted Tano Tuesday! Isn't it funny that the little orange kid has more reason to turn to the Dark Side than any Sith we see, and yet doesn't? She's like the one that got away, to the Sith.

Framed for murder by her friend, another Jedi padawan. Based on the mere accusation of same, she is excommunicated without trial or even consideration. Pretty cruel, considering the literal years of valorous service Tano had given the Republic. The absolutely unshakeable devotion to her duty she had always displayed. The selfless and noble acts she performed in service to the Light. Oh and also the people kicking her out are pretty much all telepaths who can read minds and sense thoughts and emotions. But none of them seemed to care that 90% of them in the room could tell if she was lying AND SHE WASN'T.

Then after she's kicked out, she's homeless, broke, has no friends at all. Jedi are raised in the Temple since infancy. Excommunication means you lose everything in your life from the only family you've ever known to the only home you've ever had. Who is it who helps her clear her name, some might wonder? Surely her rebellious young Master will step up and take her side! Surely he will defend his loyal padawan? But no, say I. He's buggered off. Instead, who helps her is Asaaj Ventress.

So after her friend the Jedi frames her so her family the Jedi dump her and her Master the Jedi abandons her so a Dathomir dark side witch trained as a Sith Assassin (and a Padawan, did you know that? Ventress has been trained in all three traditions!) HAS to help her..she clears her name and the vermin who betrayed her and abandoned her have the gall to invite her to join their little club?

The one that got away. She could have been so powerful.

I'm fairly sure something about being male and a Force user permanently removes you from the braincell list tbh XD As far as I recall the clones have the most time with the braincell after the likes of Ahsoka, Bail Organa, and eventually Leia. Even Asaaj Ventress gets more time with it than Anakin or Obi Wan!

Kitsune!Anakin Anecdotes Pt.2

More Kitsune nonsense? More Kitsune nonsense! I haven’t bullied Anakin nearly enough with this even after having him change species. Why you ask? For the fuck of it. Context for this AU here.       

Heightened Senses Anakin is now especially susceptible to flashbang grenades - light sensitivity and his highly sensitive hearing. It actually makes him throw up the first couple of times as the over-stimulation makes his body go haywire. This is a problem when you are on the frontline of a war. Cue Kix trying to wrestle his General into wearing some goddamn ear plugs when on an active battlefield.

Anakin: Doesn’t this just remove the advantage of my extra hearing?! Kix: I’d rather have to yell for you to hear me than have to watch you stand completley stunned and stationary in the middle of a battle again!

Additionally, Anakin and Ahsoka have to travel ahead of their troops in the dark because the light of their helmet torches would blot out their night vision. But if they happen to be lurking in a dark room and a trooper walks in, it scares the shit out of them because of the reflective retinas swivelling to stare back at them.

Cody: Why do you have motion activated lights on everywhere? Just use the switches Rex: Listen, the General and the Commander are damn quiet when they want to be, I like to know what I'm getting into when I enter a room Cody: Oh for god sakes. The Jedi are not that bad. Rex: Alright, Cody. Come back to me when your Jedi's eyes start glowing in the dark.

Familial Group Foxes don’t have packs but do operate as a familial unit. I can see Kitsune following the same trend, keeping close within the same bloodlines and the Kitsune with the greatest number of tails would be the highest in the heirachy of that family tree (usually this would also be the oldest member). The irony being, Anakin would already outrank the majority of the Kitsune population before the war even ended with his five tails.

The adult Kitsune urge to pick up cubs that have wondered off too far would creep up on him sometimes with the younglings in the Temple. Grabbing them with his teeth on the back of their robes and carting them back to their assorted rooms happens more often than Anakin would like to admit. He does it to Ahsoka as a joke. He does it to Obi-Wan as a threat.

Anakin: Go to bed. Obi-Wan: I will go when this is finished Anakin: [hauls him up] You will be going now.

More Transformation Pros and Cons Being able to shift just parts of his anatomy at a time takes a lot of practice but it comes in useful when he needs the extra grip claws grant him when climbing. Bigger ears to vent out extra heat like Fennec Foxes when in desert regions, or changing his limbs to furry, clawed apendages so as to avoid frostbite in the cold. Boots start rubbing the wrong way so Anakin takes them off and transforms just his feet into paws. Immediately steps in the bog without the protection of shoes.

Anakin: Ah. This is worse actually.

Having to deal with sensory hell on a new level when things get inbetween his paw pads. Suffering.

However, trying to hold Anakin prisoner now would be incredibly difficult. This bitch can turn himself into the most fidgety tiny fox known to man. Binders won't hold him because he can just slip straight out of them, any aircent not smaller than a datapad will just become an easy escape route, and manhandling him comes with the risk of having your hand bitten off.

Ventress throws him into a small cage at one point and Anakin doesn't want to risk going back to his normal size in case it damages him more than the cage. He spends the entire time glaring out from between the bars at his captors waiting for someone to try and get him out again. That or trying to gnaw his way through the bars.

Its like looking at an unexploded bomb. A very angry looking unexploded bomb.

Ventress: Nobody wants to unpack this, so let’s just throw the whole thing away.

Let me just explain real quick

Me and a mate were going on about an au where, somehow, it's Maul and Savage vs Ahsoka and Asaaj in the throne room during the siege. Like, I know it gets rid of the whole duality thing and the 'we're the same but different' stuff but Hear Me Out

Something about Palps delaying dealing with Maul and Ahsoka actually teaming up with Asaaj because she owes her for that one time or something.

But yeah, this would mean Interactions between Bo-Katan and Asaaj. The possible rivalmance. The 'you wanna fuck me so bad it makes you look stupid' energy. Bo having to deal with a very openly sexual and powerful force user Challenging Her at every turn.

Oh and also Palps turning up in the throne room and it being Maul, Savage, Asaaj, and Ahsoka vs Emperor Palpatine because Big Threat and Reasons would be so cool dont judge me
